The 2021 Imperial Session will be held July 4-8 in the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas. The convention center is connected via skybridge to the Marriott Marquis and the Hilton Americas and is located conveniently close to all Session hotels.
Imperial Session, including the business sessions, public opening, pageant, marketing and communications report and concert will all be held in Hall A3. The Marketplace and the Shriners Zone will be held in Hall B3.
The George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB) has earned accreditation from the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STARTM Facility Accreditation Program – the industry gold standard of safe facilities.
In early September 2020, the GRB became the first convention center in the nation to implement Medistar Corp’s new biodefense air filtration system proven to eliminate a number of airborne contaminants, including COVID-19.
Since January 6 of this year, the GRB has successfully welcomed nearly 300,000 attendees at several large events including the Mizuno Cross Court Volleyball Tournament in March. The facility remains active daily, and has hosted up to 21,000 guests in a single day, all while maintaining the highest standards of public safety.
The GRB is part of the Houston Clean initiative, a citywide task force committed to enhanced health precautions designed to mitigate virus spread.
The George R. Brown Convention Center is part of the convention and entertainment campus known as Avenida Houston. As part of the exquisite landscaped design, the 97,000 square-foot Avenida Houston includes Discovery Green’s 12-acre park as well as public art installations. The area around Avenida Houston also has many other activities, and dining and retail options for guests.
Imperial Session, Marketplace, the Shriners Zone, and many other breakfasts, lunches and competitions will be held inside the spacious George R. Brown Convention Center.
The convention center is also home to five restaurants, a Starbucks and FedEx office. Complimentary Wi-Fi is offered throughout the convention center in all public space.
